On All Fours

Dark, dreary, wet with rain water, my paws on the hard cold cement, and a small breeze blowing in from outside. Tall concrete walls surround me, encroaching as if they are some kind of predator slowing swallowing me whole. The air is stagnant with the smell of wet fur. Distant voices carry from the next room, faint and foreign. The only thing that would cut the silence was the sound of the creaky door. It holds the only hope we have to leave our suffering behind, as the fleshy pink creatures take us away one by one.
My suffering doesn’t begin with this place; it started with a tall old hermit with hardly any hair on his white balding head. There were many of us: sick, itchy covered in waste and mites, constantly, pulling out our fur just to find relief from the itching. The only food was from the hermit, who would throw us only scraps and bones, afterward yelling at us in a dark tone, “Fight amongst yourselves.” This changed one day when the hermit lay still

First of this picture is absolutely stunning. The focus you used, the composition and everything is great. You picked a very beautiful set of flowers to photograph for sure.

The only thing that's off to me is the two pieces of grass along the front and side of the picture. They're distracting and maybe moving them out of the picture during the shot would have helped out a little to make the picture a little less busy.

Outside of that this picture is very lovely. Your use of the rule of thirds, color, composition and f-stop show very strongly here. You're well on your way to being one of the greats of photography. Keep up the great work!
